PGK acquired the exploration and production license (the "Pre-Caspian License") at government-mandated auction in October 2006. The license area covers 1,437km2 in the Saratov region to the east of the Volga River. The southern edge of the license area is Russia's border with Kazakhstan. The Company believes the area covered by the Pre-Caspian License (the "Pre-Caspian Licence Area") may be analogous to the Karpenskiy License Area.
